When you’re a kid and your mom or dad dies, how will you tackle the everyday tasks of growing up?

Many kids who lose a parent feel alone. They may be the only kid in their class with a dead parent; they tend to feel like they and their family are ‘different,’ when all they want to do is feel like a ‘normal’ kid.

The Kids Like Me: Stories for Grieving Children series centers the experiences of grieving kids and normalizes grief for young children. A twenty-four-book series for ages five to eight, these delightful books showcase six kids, each of whom has lost a parent at a young age and serves as a role model for young readers.

Each book features one of the twenty-four character traits found in positive psychology and is a tool for parents to promote social-emotional learning in their young children.
